"EB Games: The Corporation" deserves one single, solitary star.

Why?  Because their corporate philosophy is ridiculously short sighted.  They emphasize the buying and selling of used games over new items because of the higher profit margins.  If you go in to a store and ask an employee for a specific title, they will immediately look amongst the used stock first.  Higher profit margins are the order of the day.  They barely even stock new items any more.  Then there are the pre-orders, the strategy guides, the replacement plans...

I don't go into EB unless absolutely necessary.

So why do I give the store three stars?  Because a vast majority of the employees at EB genuinely love video games.  I've been to this store a few times since I moved to the neighborhood.  Every time the employees are sincerely friendly.  I can almost sense the twinge of regret in their voice as they ask me if I would like to preorder anything, and the almost feel the relief when I say "No Thank You" to the replacement plan.

I've always hated EB Games but this location is different; the staff is awesome, helpful and friendly and it really makes a huge difference. This is the only EB Games I'll shop in.

EBGamestop is a company that people love to hate... but please don't hate the employees. I can tell you from having worked there that only a small percentage of us are actually evil. Really!

Nance, Pat, and the whole gang are great, so don't hesistate in visiting if you ever need to get your (video)game on.

This was the first, and hopefully, last time that my boyfriend and I had to go to this EB Games location. Notably, the guy that we dealt with was pretty friendly and the transaction was smooth and quick. The downside about this location is its relatively small Nintendo DS selection, as well as it being located in the heart of tourist central.

Entering a video game store while in your mid twenties is a bit like entering an adult video store; both cater to a decidedly skewed gender demographic, and both require a certain willingness to ignore society's gentle reminders that you should be doing something better with your time.

This particular EB Games makes such a willingness simple.  I went here a week before Christmas, and without a doubt it was the best stocked video game store I had seen in all my years on this humble planet.  They had many items I had been unable to find at other establishments for several weeks.  Of course, some may chalk this up to simply good timing, but what pushes this store over the 4-star threshhold is the courteous and helpful staff.  They certainly know what time it is.

The general manager, Pat, and assistant manager Marc are the coolest guys around. They are not just there to get paid. You can tell they really put their hearts into their jobs, and are always trying to help out people the best that they could. No wonder why all their employees take on these positive qualities as well - they all seem to enjoy working there.

This store is good at keeping things neat and organized. All games alphabetized, guide books shrink wrapped and everything properly displayed.

Okay, this review might be a bit biased because I work here. But really, they deserve some sort of recognition!

When I moved to town I was disappointed that the EB store at the Embarcadero had closed down - it's closer to my place and not in tourist central. But then I discovered this one, strategically located next to the In-N-Out Burger ... and what can I say?

Patrick and Marc who work here are super friendly and know their trade like no others. They don't make people buy stuff they don't want or need and even check if ten year olds want to buy mature games like Grand Theft Auto. Good, good.

So if you're getting impatient because there's a tall guy with a strange accent standing at the counter talking with those two forever, hit him over the head and make him go away. Don't hit too hard, though.

overall a good experience, but parking sucks

video games next to establishments known for hot wings (and boobs) and burgers? these three (four?) values represent the indulgences and tragedies of the american male, so spend responsibly

however, since parking does suck and most tourists don't come to san francisco to buy video games, the store never gets crowded and they always have a big selection, even of the heavily discounted stuff

and nancy is, like, the most uber gaming goddess EVAR, so she can answer all of your video-game-related questions.

[i.e. "who the hell was Bayou Billy?" and "can I trade my pink Nintendo DS for a PS3?"]

but watch out for the bush man. that dirty hobo is always right outside the store scaring people, and he isn't always happy doing it
